Abstract
PURPOSE: To facilitate the removal of spatters from the inside surfce of an electrically welded tube of small diameter, by tightly inserting a mandrel which has an outside diameter smaller than the inside diameter of the tube and is provided with a cutting edge, into the tube.
CONSTITUTION: Electrically welded tubes not yet removed of spatters are stored in a hopper 31. A pressurized fluid is introduced into a cylinder 36 to perform driving to put an electrically welded tube 7 into a groove 32-2 out of the hopper 31 while moving a holder 32 rightward from a position shown in the drawing. The holder 32 is then covered with a lid 33. At that time, a hook 39-2 and a stopper pin are engaged with each other. After a mandrel guide is set in a prescribed position, a mandrel drive truck is actuated to tightly insert a mandrel into the tube 7 through the mandrel guide to remove the spatters from the inside surface of the tube 7. At that time, a vibrator may be actuated to reduce the resistance at the tight insertion of the madrel and make the spatter-removed surface smooth.
