Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent rotation force transmission capacity from dropping due to a decrease in viscosity of fluid caused by its temperature rise, by making a casing and a rotor respectively of those materials different from each other in the coefficient of thermal expansion. CONSTITUTION:A rotor 3 and an inner housing 5a are made of materials different from each other in coefficient of thermal expansion. Accordingly, when the temperature of viscous fluid rises, those of the rotor 3 and the casing 5a must be raised, expanding them outwardly along their radial directions and moving outwardly a labyrinth portions 4a, 4b along the radial direction. As a result, a gap W0 of the labyrinth at a low temperature is decreased to a gap W1 when the temperature rises, compensating the drop of rotation force transmission capacity due to the decrease in viscocity of fluid during the high temperature.
