Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the leakage of the refrigerant between the vane and the cylinder and to reduce the friction loss at the contact surface between the vane and the cylinder of a rotary compressor used for a refrigeration system and the like by providing a roller rotation free in the cylinder. CONSTITUTION:Centrifugal force due to the rotation of a piston 5 is generated in vanes 7 and 7' contained sliding free in grooves 6 and 6' causing the vanes 7 and 7' rotate while in contact with the inside surface of a roller 3 and dividing the cylinder chamber into a compression chamber 9 and suction chamber 10. As the tips 7a and 7a' of the vanes 7 and 7' touch the inside surface of the roller 3 a friction resistance is generated to cause the roller 3 rotate at the speed slightly slower than the rotation of a piston 5 due to slipping thus reducing the relative speed between the vanes 7 and 7' and the roller 3, all of which constituting the compression chamber 9, thereby reducing the refrigerant leaks and the friction losses at the tips of vanes substantially.
