Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a belt which has a high strength and an adequate elongation percentage and is resistant to wear and chemicals, by depositing rubber or the like on a base cloth employing twisted warp made by twisting two or more prescribed kinds of fibers together. CONSTITUTION:To manufacture a flat belt for an industrial machine such as a conveyor, wear-resisting rubber or flexible resin is deposited on one or both sides of a base cloth employing twisted warp made by twisting aromatic polyamide fibers with polyester fibers or aliphatic polyamide fibers. The belt has a high strength and an adequate elongation percentage and does not corrode with acid, alkali or the like and has an excellent resistance to wear. A smoothing agent such as silicone resin may be added to the deposited material to reduce the friction on the belt.
