Abstract

PURPOSE: To cut short fibers easily, by equipping pushing members projecting from between the blades of a cutting plate after cutting fibers, and making a contact plate consisting of an endless belt, cutting the fibers with the aid of the cutting plate.
CONSTITUTION: A great number of the blades 1, 1', etc. are arranged through the spacers 4, 4', etc. on the cutting plate 2, and fibers are cut between it and the surface 3 of the contact plate. The holding members 7 for pushing bars at the both ends of the bottom of the cutting plate 2 are provided with a great number of the pushing bars 6, 6', etc., and the holding members 7 are communicated with the lever bodies 8 slidably. When the cutting plate 2 is lowered by the movement of the piston 5 and fibers are cut between it and the surface 3 of the contact plate, the lever bodies 8 are separated from the stoppers 10, the pushing bars 6, 6', etc. are sucked in between the blades 1, 1', etc. by the springs 9. When the cutting is over and the cutting plate 2 is raised, the pushing plates 6, 6, etc. are projected from between the blades 1, 1', etc. The contact plate 3 consists of the endless belt 12, and the fibers are transferred in the direction perpendicular to the blades 1, 1', etc. Consequently, fibers with length of about 0.2W2mm can be cut easily.
