Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the mechanical strength of an element and also, to prevent a curvature of the element, by nipping and fixing the laminar solid electrolyte element by two electric insulating plates. CONSTITUTION:Electrodes 3a, 3b are formed on both sides of an oxygen ion conductive laminar solid electrolyte element 1 and interposes so as to position round holes 30a, 30b of alumina plates 2a, 2b on the face of thses electrodes. The plates 2a, 2b are fixed by an inorganic bonding agent 9. Thus constituted element is burt at 1,450-1,700 deg.C and the whole body is stuck closely. Next, electric insulating metallic such as alumina, magnesia, alumina spinel etc. is melt-sprayed by plasma and a porous film 10 having uniform porosity is formed. Thickness of the film 10 of the side of the electrode 3a is made thin and that of the side of the electrode 3b is made thick at the part of each hole 30a, 30b of the plates 2a, 2b. The side of this electrode 3b is used for a diffusion resistance layer 10a giving the diffusion resistance for oxygen molecule.
