Abstract
PURPOSE: To avoid generation of mesh clogging on a whetstone even in grinding rubber or plastics by uniting grinding grain by means of viderifide and covering the using surface with thin silicone film.
CONSTITUTION: The grinding grain which constitutes a whetstone is united by vitrified material, and the using surface is covered with thin silicone film. The silicone is of emulsion type, oil type, or varnish type. As grinding grain, is used alundum in alumina form or carborundum consisting of silicone carbide which is normally used. As the using surface is covered with thin silicone film, even if the workpiece made of high polymers such as rubber and plastics which become sticky with the heat generated in grinding is ground, adhesion of powder does not occur, and mesh clogging does not arise owing to the lubricating performance.
