Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the tiltled adhesive which exhibits high adhsive force in one step and little suffers deterioration of adhesive force during application at high temperature, consisting of a benzoic acid derivative/formaldehyde condensate and a hydroxybenzene/formaldehyde condensate.
CONSTITUTION: A condensate having an MW of 250W700 obtd. by the condensation of a benzoic acid derivative of the formula (wherein R1, R2 are each H, a 1W4C alkyl) such as m-methylbenzoic acid with formaldehyde in the presence of an acidic catalyst, is blended with a condensate (pref. having a structure such that two hydroxybenzenes are bonded in series) having an average MW of 200W500 obtd. from the condensation of a hydroxybenzene such as resorcinol or m-cresol with formaldehyde in the presence of an acidic catalyst to obtain an adhesive which is then used for bonding between a polyester fiber material and a rubber.
