Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate the enlargement of a character, by previously setting the initial value to a register and accordingly attaining the enlargement of an optional character and the setting of the character interval while satisfying the limiting condition of the number of dots on a line.
CONSTITUTION: The code information given from a microprocessor MPU is written into an RAM10 under the control of a counter 28 and then read out to a code converting circuit 12 based on the start signal St applied to the counter 28. The circuit 12 converts the code information into a character pattern, and this character pattern is converted into a run length code. This run length signal and an address (magnification ratio) given from a register 30 are applied to an ROM14. The ROM14 supplies successively the run length N-magnification to a character interval inserting circuit 16. Then the character interval given from a register 32 is inserted to be applied to a multiplexer MPX18. Thus the optional character enlargement and the character space setting are facilitated while satisfying the limiting conditions for the number of dots on a line. As a result, the enlarging operation is simplified for the characters.
