Abstract

PURPOSE: To remove a minute amount of a chlorine gas by a method wherein an endless filter mat is immersed in a caustic soda solution and washing water successively to be contacted with the chlorine gas contained in air.
CONSTITUTION: When surrounding air 26 containing a minute amount of a chlorine gas is passed through a filter to remove dust therein and, after dust removal, passed through the A part of an endless filter mat 3 to be dried and further passed through the F, E parts thereof impregnated with a caustic soda solution, caustic soda and the chlorine gas are reacted and the chlorine gas is removed. Chlorine gas removed air is dried by passing the same through the C part of said mat to be converted to purified air. As described above, the chlorine gas is positively removed by chemical reaction and bad affect to an electric system is removed.
