Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a printer in which a single printing head can be securely reset to its home position to be dismounted or replaced, by constructing the printer such that the single printing head can be reset to its home position by off operation of a switch for an electric source.
CONSTITUTION: When the electric source switch 5 is operated from ON to OFF, the operation of an electric source circuit 22 is stopped, but a voltage holding circuit 23 supplies a voltage above a prescribed voltage for a certain period of time to the electric source circuit 22 by its working apparatus 23a so that the action of an electric controlling circuit 21 and a printing mechanism 6 can be continued. A discontinuation signal generating means 22a is coacted by the action of the working apparatus 23a to output a discontinuation signal Ss to a reset controlling circuit 21a. The circuit 21a outputs a reset signal Rs to a pulse motor to turn a type wheel 8, and when the home position is detected through a home position slit 18b of a rotating position detecting member 17, the drive of the pulse motor 11 is stopped.
