Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve cleaning effect of a recording belt with simple constitution, by jetting jet air from an air jetting nozzle to a tangent direction of a recording belt. CONSTITUTION:A cleaning device 12 is located in opposition to a driving roller 2 and has a jet nozzle 14 to jet compressed air to a surface of a recording belt 1, a case 15 disposed at a position covering a surface of the recording belt to be cleaned and an exhaust conduit 16 fitted to the case 15, and the nozzle 14 has an air jetting part 17 of e.g. a slit-shape at the tip of it, and the air jetting part 17 is arranged so as to extend and exist over the belt 1. The position of air jetting direction jetted from the jetting part 17 is decided so as to be almost in a tangent direction T of the curved recording belt surface. By this way, cleaning effect is improved with simple constitution.
