Abstract
PURPOSE: To make the high torque output available, by providing a water reserved type cooling and heating system for a shape-memory belt so that the partition between both water tanks can be sealed perfectly in order to eliminate the matual interference of temperature between the both tanks.
CONSTITUTION: A hot water tank 10 and cold water 12 are provided on the same plane and pulleys 14W17 are installed on each tank, supported by bearings. The loop formed shape-memory belt 18, made of configuration-memory alloy, is soaked and heated in the hot water 11 of the hot water tank 10 between the pulley 14, 15, and cooled in the cold water of the cold water tank 12 between pulleys 16, 17. The shape-memory belt 18 is spanned as two level crossing between the pulleys 15, 16, (15, 18) and the pulleys 14, 17 (16, 17) and in parallel between pulleys 16, 17 and pulleys 14, 15. The normal belt is spanned between pulleys 20, 21 provided coaxially with the pulleys 14, 15.
