PURPOSE:To transfer and print insulated film patterns on the surface of an object to be printed simply and accurately by such a process wherein the object made of metal material to be printed and a plate electrode on which insulated film patterns are provided are closely and opposingly arranged under the existence of electrolyte and a current is caused to flow through them. CONSTITUTION:At the bottom of an electrolyzing tank 1 filled with an electrolyte 2 such as an aqueous solution of nickel sulfate, etc., a plate electrode 4 made of metal plate 4a provided with insulation film patterns 4b is provided. An object to be printed 3 made of metal material which can be colored by an electrochemical method is opposingly arranged close to the plate electrode 4 through an electric insulation object 5 such as silk cloth, etc., and a voltage is impressed between the object to be printed 3 and the plate electrode 4.
