Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent virtual profile and fog from being generated at the recording of a gradation picture, by generating a dot pattern suitably, through the scanning of a character region with an image sensor and the detection of changing points from dark to bright and vice versa. CONSTITUTION:A character region is scanned at an image sensor, a binary coding value is stored in a picture memory 9, and information (0) and (1) of each picture element of one line is read out from left or right in order from the memory 9 with an address from an address register 10 and stored in a shift register 11 and shifted from an R2 to an R1 sequentially. The information of the R2 and R1 if the register 11 is shifted to an exclusive OR 12, and if the content is different, a comparator 13 is started, and when equal, a comparator 16 is started. Further, the comparator 13 compares the information of the R1 with (0)(white) to generate a pattern 5 or a pattern 6 respectively from pattern generators 14 and 15. The comparator 16 compares the information of the R2 with (0)(white), a pattern 8 or 7 is generated from the pattern generators 17 and 18 respectively, and the generation of virtual profile and fog can be prevented.
