Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable to perform both an operation to scratch sediment and an operation to remove sediment on a screen by a single device, by a method wherein one or more driving sprockets, which engage a bucket conveyor, are mounted to a cradle in which the bucket conveyor is stretched around a running truck, and the driving direction of the conveyor is switched. CONSTITUTION:In case sediment is scratched up, an elevating frame 17 of a vertical frame 11 is lowered onto a sediment surface at the bottom of the pond by a cylinder 9. Simultaneously, through operation of a cylinder 8 mounted to a sprocket wheel 10c, a bucket conveyor 12 is brought to a given tension, and as it is driven in a direction of an arrow mark A, a discharging device 4 is actuated to drive a running truck 2. In case sediment on a screen S is removed, the elevating frame 17 is raised by the use of cylinders 9 and 8 in a similar manner, and through adjustment of the tension of the bucket conveyor 12, the frame 12 is set to the lower position of the screen S. After the running truck 2 is brought to a stop so that a rake 14 makes contact with the screen S, sediment on the screen is scratched up by driving the bucket conveyor in a direction of an arrow mark B to discharge them onto a discharging device 15.
