Abstract

PURPOSE:To use the titled optical switch also at a place disturbed by electric noises or a hot and humid place by adopting an optical system sensing the connection/disconnection or strength of light instead of a voltage sensing system for a switch actuating system. CONSTITUTION:When an external magnet 26 approaches an intercepting piece 22 a part or the whole of which is formed by a magnetic material, the intercepting piece 22 is drawn by the magnet 26 by the magnetism 27 of the magnet 26 and moved as shown by the arrow 28. Light 25a from an optical fiber 15 passes through a lens 23 as shown by the arrow 25b and then sent to an outlet 15' of a switch through a lens 24. If the magnet 26 is separated in the direction of the arrow 29', the intercepting piece 22 loses the suction force generated by the magnetic flux and is returned in the direction of the arrow 28' by spring force, intercepting the light 25b. Consequently, the light is not transmitted to the outlet 15', intercepting light input to a photoreceiver.
