Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a current amplifying circuit in which the current amplifying factor can be set with high accuracy and the power consumption in the standby state is zero, by constituting the titled circuit of a current mirror circuit, potential difference detecting circuit and two transistors (TRs) and resistors.
CONSTITUTION: An input current Iin generates two currents equal to the Iin at a current mirror circuit 2; one is given to a terminal 10 of a potential difference detecting circuit 3 and another is applied to a base 14 of a TRQ4 and a current output terminal 11. If a potential at a voltage input terminal 13 is assumed to lower than a potential at a voltage input terminal 12, a current of I3-I2 flows from the base of the TRQ4 since, I1<I3. This current is amplified at TRs Q4 and Q5 and a current Iout flows to a resistor RE6 to boost the potential at the terminal 13. Inversely, if the potential at the terminal 13 is higher than the potential at the terminal 12, the phenomenon is reversed, resulting in the drop of potential at the terminal 13. Thus, the current amplification factor can be set with high accuracy, and the power consumption at non-operation, that is, the standby power can be reduced to zero for the titled current amplifying circuit.
