Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a tension leveler for preventing a relative alide, by driving a backup roll through a coupling by a motor, and making it synchronize with a speed of a strip. CONSTITUTION:A backup roll 3 supported by a bearing part 5 is coupled with an adjacent backup roll 3 by a joint 8 in the bearing part 5. A split backup roll 3 is connected to an output shaft from a motor 7 by a coupling 6, and is driven by synchronizing with a speed of a strip. In this regard, as for the joint, Oldham's, spline and split-pin systems, etc. can be adopted, and as for the coupling 6, an electromagnetic coupling, a roller chain coupling, etc. can be adopted. In this way, it is possible to prevent a relarive slide of a work roll 1 and an intermediate roll 2 due to rotation resistance of the backup roll 3.
