Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve a high-speed movement of a distributor by omitting the return motion of each tray by a distributor when sheets of paper are inserted into trays. CONSTITUTION:When a distributor 14 descends, the extreme end 26a of a pressing member 26 presses down on the upper surface of the rear end 25b of a push- up lever 25, thereby the extreme end 25a of the lever 25 pushes up a tray 13 as indicated by an imaginary line in the drawing to widen the entrance to a tray. At the same time a lock lever 28 is truned by a spring 29 and its extreme end 28a engages a locking stage 27a, thereby locking the push-up lever 25. After the paper has been inserted, the distributor 14 descends into the position of the tray on the next stage. At this time the rear end 26b of the pressing member 26 presses a protruding part 30a of a disengaging member 30 which is in the pass of movement of said pressing member but since the disengaging member 30 rotates clockwise when pressed in this direction, it does not disengage the lock lever 28. When the distributor 14 ascends, it disengages the lock lever to return the lifted tray to its original position one after another as said distributor moves upward.
