Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic receptor having high sensitivity over the range of visible light and the range of semiconductor laser and superior endurance by adding a specified trisazo pigment to a charge generating layer and a specified hydrazone compound to a charge transferring layer. CONSTITUTION:A triphenylamine type trisazo pigment represented by formulaI is added to a charge generating layer. A charge transferring layer contg. a hydrazone compound represented by formula II[where each of R1-R4 is H, 1- 3C alkyl, 1-3C alkoxy, (substituted)dialkylamino, dibenzylamino or halogen]is formed on the charge generating layer to form a laminate type photoconductive layer on an electrically conductive support. The resulting electrophotographic receptor has high sensitivity over the whole range of visible light and the range of semiconductor laser, and it undergoes no change in the characteristics even after repeated use.
