Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform logarithmic conversion and A/D conversion at the same time, by integrating an input signal for a described period, discharging the signal with a prescribed time constant and counting clock pulses for the period reaching to a reference voltage. CONSTITUTION:When a start pulse SP is applied, a countre 13 is reset, an FF16 is set, a switch 3 turns on with outputs Q and Q', switch 8 turns off and an integrator 6 integrates an input voltage E1. When the counter 13 counts a clock pulse CP and the count value reaches a maximum value, a carry output CL is produced, the FF16 is reset, the switch 3 turns off and the 8 turns on. A charge proportional to the input voltage E1 of the integrator 6 charged to a capacitor 5 is discharged via a resistor 7, and when the output voltage reaches a reference voltage ER, a gate circuit 12 is closed with an output CO of a comparator 9 and the counter 13 stops the counting of the clock pulse.
