Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the loss of the power transmission even in a long-distance transmission line and increase greatly the efficiency of the power transmission, by securing the control for the reactive power that performs the compensation in accordance with the active current flowing to the transmission line of an electric power system. CONSTITUTION:A voltage lowering transformer 2 is connected to a transmission line 1, and a main circuit in which a reactor 3 is connected in series to a thyristors 4 connected in adversely parallel to each other is set at the secondary side of the tranformr 2. Then the active power is detected by a control circuit 25 via a current transformer 23 for meters and a transformer 24 for meters. A slow fluctuation component is extracted out of the detected active power by an LPF. Then an operation Q=a+bp+cp<2> is carried out by means of a signal P and by using (a), (b) and (c) as the constants. The current flowing to the reactor 3 is adjusted by controlling the ignition phase of the thyristor 4 so as to be equal to the obtained reactive power Q.
