Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the sensitivity and durability by adding at least 1 kind of bisazo pigment represented by formulaIas a charge generating substance. CONSTITUTION:A bisazo pigment represented by formulaI(where R is optionally substituted alkyl or aryl, each of Ph1 and Ph2 is optionally substituted arylene, and Cp is a coupler residue) is dispersed in a soln. of a binder such as butyral resin in a solvent such as ethanol. This dispersion is coated onto an electric conductor such as an Al plate to form a charge generating layer. A soln. of a charge transferring substance such as a pyrazoline compound and a binder such as polycarbonate resin is then coated onto the charge generating layer to form a charge transferring layer. Thus, a laminated electrophotographic receptor is obtd. By adding the bisazo pigment, this receptor is improved in sensitivity and durability as compared to a conventional receptor made of an org. photoconductive material.
