Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled rubber compsn. in which rolling resistance is reduced without deteriorating wear resistance, etc., by blending two kinds of styrene/butadiene copolymer rubbers composed of low-molecular and high- molecular ones and carbon black in a specified blending manner.
CONSTITUTION: 10W40pts.wt. styrene/butadiene copolymer rubber (A) having a weight-average MW of less than 5.5×105 and contg. 20W25wt% polymerized styrene, 90W60pts.wt. styrene/butadiene copolymer rubber (B) having a weight- average MW of 5.5×105 or more and contg. 20W25wt% polymerized styrene, and 45W60pts.wt. (per 100pts.wt. of the combined amount of components A and B) carbon black (C) are used as raw materials. The whole amount of component A is blended with component C which is used in an amount of not more than half of the whole amount of component C and within the range of A/A+B or more. The mixture is kneaded. Then the whole amount of component B and the remaining amount of component C are blended with the above mixture to obtain the titled rubber compsn.
