Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare dyed cellulose fiber having excellent stability to an aqueous solution of alkali and high color yield, by dyeing cellulose fiber with a reactive dye compsn. containing specified proportions of a reactive dye and a higher fatty acid ester of polyethylene glycol sorbitan.
CONSTITUTION: The compsn. is prepared by blending a reactive dye and a higher fatty acid ester of ethylene glycol sorbitan[e.g. a compd. of the formula (where R is 7W28C satd. or unsatd. alkyl group; l+m+n=10W30)]in a blend ratio of 90W99.9:10W0.1 by wt. The compsn. is highly soluble in water or an aqueous soln. of alkali and has a high degree of brightnes and wet fastness. It can be fixed on cellulose fiber by various means and finds a wide application in dip dyeing and printing of cellulose fiber.
