Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent evolution of hydrogen fluoride due to decomposition of a perfluoroalkylamine heat medium in use, by adding a specified org. base to the heat medium.
CONSTITUTION: To a perfluoroalkylamine heat medium, is added at least about 0.2wt% org. base such as hydrazine, phenylhydrazine, quinoline or laurylamine having a high decomposition temp. and boiling at a temp. near the service temp. of the heat medium. It is not always necessary for said org. base to be soluble in the heat medium, and it is pref. to add it little by little at adequate intervals.
