Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve corrosion resistance and running characteristics by adsorbing metallic salt of perfluoroalkyl sulfonic acid on a thin film of a ferromagnetic material for magnetic recording. CONSTITUTION:A thin film medium for magnetic recording made of ferromagnetic metal by vacuum deposition, etc., is coated with or dipped in a solution or dispersed liquid of metallic salt such as manganese, chromium, copper, iron, cobalt, nickel, etc., of perfluoroalkyl sulfonic acid expressed by CnF2n+1SO3H (where n is >=1), thus performing adsorbing reaction. As the said metallic salt, trifluoromethane sulfonic acid nickel salt, or pentadecafluorooctasulfonic acid nickel salt, cobalt salt, or iron salt is usable.
