Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an easy to operate automatic original feeder by providing a manual insertion port thereby permitting setting of manual insertion originals on a copying machine. CONSTITUTION:An automatic original feeder 100 is provided with an original setting part 102 for automatic feeding of originals and a manual insertion port 103. When the operator lifts a guiding plate 104 for manual insertion and sets an original by placing the same on the part 102, a switch is turned on by the original and an original set signal is generated. In accordance with this signal, process control is accomplished by a CPU, etc., whereby the original is fed automatically. On the other hand, when the operator inserts the original manually into the port 103 and operates an interruption key, a manual signal is generated and the manually inserted original is fed. When the interruption key is operated again, the automatic feeding is reset. According to this constitution, the interruption copying is accomplished without removing the original in the original setting part, the handling of jam is made easy and the easy to operate automatic original feeder is provided.
