Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce a biscuit contg. active carbon of superior adsorptivity, decolorizing and deodorizing ability by kneading and molding raw materials for active carbon and porcelain clay then heating the molding in a furnace to activate the raw materials and calcining the porcelain clay like a biscuit.
CONSTITUTION: Raw materials for active carbon prepd. by disintegrating sawdust, coconut shells, pine cones, wood, etc. to powder, and granules are kneaded with a proper amt. of porcelain clay and the mixture is molded like a plate, a cylinder or the like. Such molded blank material is put in a heat resistant furnace where it is heated to activate the raw materials for active carbon and to calcine the porcelain clay like a biscuit. The adsorbent molding having superior adsorptivity, decolorizing and deodorizing ability is obtained. Since this is not powder and granules unlike active carbon, it is convenient to handle, and will not produce any loss by scattering during the use.
