Abstract
PURPOSE:To make the heat distortion in welding as small as possible, by a method wherein the cold damper of a rotor and an end shaft are joined with each other by using the shrink fitting method and the welding method in parallel. CONSTITUTION:A cold damper 4 of a rotor and end shafts 8 and 9 are joined together by shrink-fitting the outer circumferential surface 16 and the inner circumferential surface 17 of the cold damper, so that torque is transferred by means of said shrink-fitted surface pressure. In addition, because a vacuum part 14 inside the rotor of a superconductive rotary machine needs to be kept under a high vacuum, a welding method is employed wherein serving also as a sealing of the outside of the rotor, the shrink-fitted outer and inner circumferential surfaces 16 and 17 are welded to the outside of the end shafts 16 and 17 through weld 18. The welding length l of said shrink-fitted surfaces 16 and 17 is, for example, the order of 20- 30% of the plate thickness t of the end shafts. Thereby, it is possible to make the distortion in welding smaller.
