Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the noise of inversion of the blade of a windshield wiper and heighten its durability, by changing the centrifugal force of a weight interlocked with the blade, into a force for pushing the blade on the windshield and by making the pushing force zero at the time of the inversion of the blade on its upper and lower stroke limits. CONSTITUTION:A swing arm 14 fitted with a weight 13 on the tip of the arm is coupled to the shaft 9 of a windshield wiper so that the swing arm is pinch-held between a pivot lever 10 and a holder 11 which supports the shaft 9. The arm 14 swings in connection with the rocking motion of the lever 10. At that time, contrifugal force acts to the arm 14 because of the weight 13 to push and open the holder 11 and the lever 10 from each other. The push-opening force is transmitted to the shaft 9 and the arm 1 to push the blade 3 of the wiper on the windshield. When the direction of movement of the wiper blade 3 is inverted, the force which pushes the blade on the windshield is zero because the speed of the swing of the arm 14 is zero at the time of the inversion.
