Abstract

PURPOSE:To make a steering power during driving lighter than that required for cramping the wheels by actuating a supplementary pump as well as a power steering pump at the cramping to steer. CONSTITUTION:When a vehicle drives, a motor 11 is not operated because a speed switch 14 is kept off, and a supplementary pump 9 is not either. A power steering is driven by a power steering pump 6 only at a constant flow rate of working fluid during operation of an engine 8. With a vehicle stopped, the speed switch 14 is kept on and if a driver cramps the front wheels to steer, a pressure switch 13 is turned on to trigger the motor 11 for driving the supplementary pump 9. Working fluid to be supplied into a control valve 1 is discharged from both the power steering pump 6 and the supplementary pump 9, generating intensified liquid pressure for steering power.
