Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain contact lenses for a surgical operation of vitreous body of an eye, consisting of a hydrophobic polymer which is able to preserve lenses in a dry state, by coating a flat surface with a plasma-polymerized film at least, and also executing a plasma treatment to the coated film. CONSTITUTION:Contact lenses for a surgical operation of vitreous body, which consist of a hydrophobic polymer such as polymethyl methacrylate, etc., and have a concave surface 1 and a flat surface 2 which have been formed so as to nearly conform with the radius of curvature of the cornea are cleaned and dried, and after that, a plasma-polymerized film is formed on the flat surface and the concave surface by executing a plasma treatment by use of gaseous methane etc., and furthermore, a plasma treatment is executed by use of oxygen, etc. When a plasma treatment is executed repeatedly in this way, a surface hydrophilic effect is held, it becomes unnecessary to preserve in the water, and moreover, when using the lenses, gaseons ethylene oxide sterilization can be executed.
