Abstract
PURPOSE:To form diffusion bonded parts of outstanding high-temp. strength and oxidation resistance in the stage of subjecting Ni-based heat resistant alloy parts to diffusion bonding by the use of an Al filler metal by pretreating said parts by sputtering wherein the Al filler metal is used as cathode and the parts to be joined as anode. CONSTITUTION:Ni-based heat resistant alloy bodies 3, 3' to be joined are disposed by facing each other in vacuum vessel 4, and the inside of the vessel 4 is put in a gaseous Ar atmosphere of a low pressure. With the bodies 3, 3' as anode, and an Al fillter 5 disposed between the bodies 3, 3' as cathode, a 2KV voltage is applied and the surface of the filler 5 is cleaned by sputtering for about 10min. Al layers of about 10mu are formed on the surfaces of the bodies 3, 3' by sputtering for about 30min, after which the bodies 3, 3' are hot-pressed with upper, lower dies 6, 6' under heating to 1,100 deg.C with high frequency heating coils 7. The Al diffuses into the Ni-based alloy in the joined parts, and disperses the gamma'-Ni3Al phase without contg. beta-NiAl phase, whereby the joined parts of outstanding strength and oxidation resistance at high temps. are obtained.
