Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the loss of branched lights by forming the optical film surface on the end o an input optical fiber so as to be a parabolic surface inclined to its optical axis and opposing an output fiber to the parabolic surface. CONSTITUTION:The end surface 14 of an optical fiber 11 is formed so as to be a parabolic surface inclined to its optical axis and an optical film surface 15 is formed on it. Lights with lambda1, lambda2 wavelengths made incident to the input optical fiber 11 reach the parabolic surface 14 and the light with lambda1 wavelength is made incident to an output optical fiber 12 after passing through the optical films 15 and 16. The light with lambda2 wavelength is reflected by the optical fiber 15 of parabolic surface 14 and its focusing beam is made incident to an output optical fiber 13 after passing through an optical film 17. Thus, the loss of branched lights is reduced.
