Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide the titled ink containing phenolic compounds or phenol derivatives, giving a printed record having rapid dryability, having low tendency of clogging the jet nozzle, and free from dissolved oxygen thereby enabling the suppression of the bubble evolution caused by the cavitation.
CONSTITUTION: The objective ink having a pH of 12W14 at 20°C can be prepared by mixing (A) ≤10pts.wt.of a water-soluble dye, (B) 0.001W15pts. of a strongly basic substance (e.g. sodium hydroxide), (C) 5W45pts. of a wetting agent (e.g. ethylene glycol), (D) 0.005W5pts. (total) of a phenolic compound and/or a phenol derivative (preferably pyrogallol and/or gallic acid) and (E) water.
EFFECT: It gives excellent circularity of the printed dot and the density of the printed record.
USE: Suitable for the ink-on-demand-type ink jet recording device.
