Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide the titled material excellent in thermal response, long-term preservability and the like and capable of photo-fixing and high-speed recording, by a method wherein a heat-sensitive color forming layer comprising a diazo compound, a coupler, a heat-fusible substance and a binder in a special constitution is provided on a base. CONSTITUTION:A diazo compound (A) of any one of formulasI-III[wherein each of R1-R3, R6, R8, R9 is H, halogen 1-5C alkyl or the like; each of R4 and R5 is (hydroxy)alkyl, a group of formula IV (wherein R13 is H, 1-3C alkyl, alkoxy or the like) or the like; R7 is H, halogen, trifluoromethyl; each of M1- M3 is an acid residue]or a coupler (B) (e.g., phloroglucinol) is dissolved in a molten liquid of a heat-fusible substance (C) (e.g.,stearamide), solidified and pulverized to produce a powdery material, which is then coated with a film- forming material. The components A and B, at least one of which is incorporated in the component C, are mixed with and dispersed in a heat-fusible or thermosoftening binder (e.g., polystyrene) to obtain a coating liquid, which is applied on the base to obtain the objective recording material.
