Abstract
PURPOSE:To eliminate the effect of noise, by comparing only the both ends of a given section, then deciding the steadiness of the entire section of a time series pattern. CONSTITUTION:An input time series pattern signal (a) is supplied successively to a shift register 1. A control part 2 controls a steadiness deciding part 3 and a smoothing process part 4 to smooth the contents of the register 1, and thus delivers a smoothed time series pattern signal (e). For smoothing, the distance (d), aj and aj+2, across the section [j and j+2] is obtained. When this value of distance is less than a certain threshold value, the section is decided as a steady part. This smoothing is repeated over the entire time series while varying the section length. In such way, the effect of impulsive noise applied to the steady part of a time series pattern is eliminated.
