Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent deformation of the front shell owing to negative pressure by fixing a tie rod to the end wall of the back shell and by holding the end wall of the front shell in such a way as pinched by the inner and outer pinch plates, which are arranged outside and inside this end wall to be pinched, through said rod. CONSTITUTION:A cylinder 9 is welded to the inner surface of the end wall of back shell 1B, and a stepped flange 10 projecting at the outside surface of a tie rod 8 is inserted in said cylinder 9. This tie rod 8 is fixed to the end wall of the back shell 1B by a stop ring 14 with an elastic sealing member 13 interposed. Inside and outside the end wall of back shell 1A, on the other hand, a pair of pinch plates 15, 16 are installed in such a way as pinching this end wall. The inner pinch plate 15 is equipped with a boss 18, and the flange 20 of tie rod 8 is fitted in a recess 19 provided in this boss 18 as well as a sealing member 23 is fitted in the seal housing 21 furnished at the boss 18. A nut 24 is screwed on a bolt 8a installed at the front part of the tie rod 8 to pinch the end wall of the fron shell 1A between the inner and outer pinch plates 15, 16. The outer pinch plate 16 works also for installation of the master cylinder M.
