Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording medium which has superior dispersibility and surface smoothness by adding a titanium coupling agent shown by a prescribed general formula and a cellulosic resin to a magnetic layer. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic layer which contains a titanium coupling agent shown by the general formula in the figure and a polyvinyl acetal resin such as polyvinyl butyral as a binder component is formed on a base to obtain a magnetic recording medium. The titanium coupling agent is contained in the magnetic layer by adding a solution which uses a proper solvent during preparation of a magnetic paint or by treating the surface of magnetic powder with the titanium coupling agent.
