Abstract

PURPOSE: To make a pattern which does not change with the passage of time, by winding a patterning thread onto the outside surface of a laminate pipe onto which a carbon fiber prepregnate was wound to decorate the laminate pipe with a pattern, and raising the pattern with use of the optical anisotropic reflection of the carbon fiber.

CONSTITUTION: A carbon fiber prepregnate 2 impregnated with a resin, e.g. an epoxy resin, a phenol resin or the like, is wound onto a core metal 1. A patterning thread 3 of nylon, vinylon or the like having a heat resistance and a heat-shrinking property is wound in a desired state onto the outside surface of the prepregnate 2. A heat-shrinking resin tape 4 is further wound. Thereafter, the layers are reformed and cured by hot-press. After the resin layers are cured, the core-metal 1 is pulled out, the shrink tape 4 and the patterning thread 3 are removed, and the formed laminate pipe 5 is polished until a rugged pattern 6 formed on the surface of the laminate pipe 5 by the patterning thread 3 disappears. Thereafter, a transparent or translucent paint 7 is applied onto the polished surface. Thus, an objective pipe whose pattern 8 will appear owing to the anisotropy of optical reflection is obtained.
