Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce a spring constant of an earth member and to improve a restoration capability thereof by untwisting a predetermined number of steel cords among steel cords embeded in the earth member.
CONSTITUTION: An earth member 1 is made of earth material 1 which comprises an insulating material 2 of a sheetlike strip consisting of a composite material composed of a natural rubber and a chloroprene rubber, and a plurality of steel cords 3' embeded in the insulating material 2 in a parallel and juxtaposed relation along the bisectional plane of the insulating material 2. Among the steel cords 3' embeded in the insulating material 2, only a predetermined number of steel cords 3'a are untwisted over their full lengthes. The earth material 3 thus formed, has a rear end portion fused with a solder metal plate 4 after the insulating material 3 at this portion is peeled off, and is coupled with a metal fixture 5 gripping the rear end portion, for mounting to or removing from an earth device of a vehicle body.
