Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a patterned enamel layer in a simple process by a method wherein an oily glaze is partially coated on a water absorbing baked glaze layer of a substrate and, further, an aqueous glaze is coated thereon over a total surface of the water absorbing baked glaze layer and only the aqueous glaze on the oily glaze is removed by washing and, thereafter, baking is carried out.
CONSTITUTION: The substrate 11 having the water absorbing baked glaze layer 10 is prepared and the oily glaze 12 is partially coated on the water absorbing baked glaze layer 10 of said substrate 11. Further, the aqueous glaze 13 is coated thereon. The aqueous glaze 13a on the oily glaze 12 is not compatible to said oily glaze 12 and separated therefrom but adsorbed and fixed to the water absorbing baked glaze layer 10. Subsequently, washing is carried out to wash out only the separated aqueous glaze 13a on the oily glaze 12 and the pattern is formed by the glazes 12, 13b. The resultant structure is baked at a temp. of an optimum baking temp. of said glazes 12, 13b or less, usually, at about 780W850°C.
