Abstract

CONSTITUTION:Each of the lower part and the upper part of the oblong anode plate 8a and cathode plate 8b are hollowed out into a horizontal rectangle to provide the lower electrolyte inlets 10a and 10b and the upper electrolyte outlets 11a and 11b respectively, and the anod plate 8a and the cathode plate 8b are juxtaposed alternately. The height H1 and H2 from the upper end of the electrolyte inlets 10a and 10b to the lower end of the electrolyte outlets 11a and 11b are set at 15cm or less respectively. Therefore, products formed or liquid to be decomposed and treated are neither oxidized by the anode plate 8a nor reduced by the cathode plate 8b thereby the current efficiency is improved.
