Abstract
PURPOSE: To exactly protect pipeline buried underground by simplifying whole work procedures and raising the efficiency of work by a method in which a largediameter pipe is covered on the part of the pipeline in the range of being influenced during the excavation to make it a double structure, and excavation and burying works are performed while watching the settling condition of the pipeline.
CONSTITUTION: A larger diameter pipe 2 is fitted on the portion 1A of a pipeline in the range of being influenced by settling, etc., in and around an excavation work area A in such a way as to seal up 6a the opening at the end of the pipe 2 under the ground. And, the exposed part 1B of the pipeline is hung down on a hanging beam 11 through a hanger 10 to support it. Also, a steel pipe-utilizing cylinder 3 is vertically fastened to the pipe 2 by turning it upwards, and a given work is performed while watching the settling of the pipeline 1 by measuring the level of the upper end of the cylinder 3. And, after the work is complete, the part 1B and the double-structure parts 1A and 2 are each supported by a structure 13 through reinforced concrete and iron frame members 12, the opening at the end of the exposed side of the pipe 2 is closed 6b, and then the work area A is back-filled with soil and sand.
