Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare the titled composition free from environmental pollution and having excellent heat resistance and tackiness, by compounding a block copolymer represented by a specific molecular formula to a specific hydrogenated resin used as a tackifier resin.
CONSTITUTION: The objective composition is prepared by compounding (a) a hydrogenated resin having a softening point of 50W160°C and prepared by the hydrogenation of a resin obtained by the thermal copolymerization at 220W320°C of a mixture containing 10W70% of dicyclopentadiene which is a fraction obtained by distilling out vinyl norbornene from a reaction mixture of 1,3-butadiene and cyclopentadiene and 30W80% of tetrahydroindene and/or cyclohexane with (b) a block copolymer of formula I or formula II (A is a non-elastomeric polymer block having a glass transistor point of ≥20°C and a molecular weight of 5,000W125,000, and its amount is ≤80wt%; B is an elastomeric conjugated diene polymer block having a molecular weight of 15,000W500,000; n is ≤2). The weight ratio of (b) to (a) is pref. 100 to 50W200.
