Abstract

PURPOSE:To execute composite record of an image and characters/symbols, by twice exposing a photoreceptor consisting of 2 photoconductive layers different from each other in a photosensitive wavelength region. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive drum 1 consists of a lower eutectic layer sensitive to lights excluding a red light and an upper Se-Te layer sensitive to the red light. The drum 1 is irradiaed by a light emitted from a lamp 52 through a red filter 50, and at the same time charged positively with a charger 6a2 to make the upper layer conductive, resulting in charging the upside of the lower layer positively. After negatively charging the upper face of the upper layer with the charger 6a2, an original image 60 is projected on the upper layer, resulting in being sensed and forming a negative electrostatic image on the upper face of the upper layer. Then, it is irradiated with a light freed of the red light through a green filter using a patternwise light-emitting device to transmit information of characters and symbols, and to form a positive electrostatic image on the upper face of the lower layer. It is developed using a positive bias voltage, permitting a composite image of the original image and the pattern image to be obtained.
