Abstract

PURPOSE: To recover heat energy of drain discharged from a steam turbine by connecting a drain outlet port from a drain separating chambr provided for each stage in a turbine casing successively to an adjacent draih separating chamber of the next lower pressure stage with the drain separating chamber of the last stage connected to a condenser.
CONSTITUTION: A turbine casing 1 is partitioned at each stage thereof to form a plurality of drain separating chambrs 6 each opened to a steam passage 5. A drain outlet port 7 for each separating chamber 6 is opened in a partition wall 9 which partitions two adjacent drain separating chambers 6 so that it may lead drain successively to an adjacent drain separating chamber 6 of the nexd lower pressure side stage. The drain outlet port 7' for the drain separating chamber 6 of the last stage is opened in the turbine casing 1 and a pipe line is connected thereto so that it may lead drain to a condenser 8. By this arrangement, part of drain is flashed at a lower pressure stage in order to make the flash steam do an additional work whereafter the drain is introduced to the condenser 8 from the drain separating chamber 6 at the last stage.
