Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent a fiber unit from being led into an optical submarine cable, by holding back a tensile strength body of the fiber unit, in a vessel for storing a connecting part of the fiber unit. CONSTITUTION:Each core of fiber units 3, 3' is connected mutually, and its connection residual length is bent round to the extent of entering a pressure resisting vessel 7. Subsequently, tensile strength bodies 4, 4' of the fiber units 3, 3' are connected by a hold-back part 11, and also are fixed to a fixed plate 9. After that, the pressure resisting vessel 7 having an insulation cover 8, in which a cable has been made to pass through in advance is moved in the axial direction, and is continuously molded with an insulator of the cable. In this way, it is prevented that the fiber units 3, 3' are led into a submarine cable.
